Scaling environment

The Scaling Environment in Skyone Autosky is a high-performance, high-availability infrastructure model specifically designed to operate elastically and on demand. Unlike the centralized architecture of the Micro Environment, the Scaling model distributes its functions across two or more separate machines. This ensures that multiple users share a single virtual machine's resources in an optimized manner, while offering much more granular and individualized control over each instance.

To facilitate the operational management of an infrastructure of this scale, the Skyone Autosky dashboard provides a series of general actions and automations that simplify the monitoring and control of the server ecosystem.

Additionally, the creation and evolution of this environment are based on a standardized process: a technical image must be published to generate machine templates, allowing you to adjust advanced parameters such as the machine's "flavor" (hardware capacity) and security group guidelines.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Intelligent On-Demand Operation: Skyone Autosky takes full control of the instance lifecycle. The system automatically turns machines on or off according to actual usage needs and pre-configured schedules managed by the Scheduling Bot, driving significant efficiency and cost optimization.

  • Adaptable Scalability: Each instance within the Scaling model is sized to support a specific and secure number of concurrent connections (typically ranging from 10 to 20 users per machine, depending on application and partner requirements).

  • High Availability and Failover: The architecture uses primary and secondary model concepts to ensure business continuity. In the event of any failure or instability in the primary load, the system automatically executes a failover workflow, switching access between different availability zones or instance types (flavors).

  • Advanced Security with Zero Trust: The environment provides full support for Zero Trust functionality. This security protocol restricts and hardens RDP connections, ensuring that machine access is only granted to users who have been properly authenticated and validated through the AutoSky portal.

The following sections cover the detailed features and settings you will find when managing a Scaling Environment:
