Flow Canva: overview

PreviousFlow Canva: configuring and editing the flowNextException Handler

Last updated 4 months ago

When you click on flow, you will be directed to the flow editing screen, which we call "Flow Canva". Here, you have control over your flow and can create, edit and configure it according to your needs.

Check out all the items on the screen below:

Attachments

Add files with useful information for your project, such as images or pdfs.

Adding attachments to the flow

To add an attachment, follow these steps:

  1. Click on "Attachments".

  2. Note that a side modal will open. Simply drag or add a file.

Files in various formats are accepted, such as JSON, PNG, JPEG, PDF, DOCX and XLSX.

  1. That's it! Your attachment is now part of the flow. Note that the number of attachments will appear next to the icon.

Deleting attachments from the flow

To delete an attachment from the flow, follow these steps:

  1. Go to "Attachments".

  2. In the modal, click on the close icon of the attachment you want to remove.

  3. To complete the action, simply click on "Delete".

Manual execution

The "Manual Execution" option allows you to trigger a flow with just one click. This option is useful in situations where a specific intervention is required or to test the operation of the flow.

Activate / deactivate flow

This button allows you to control the execution of a flow, so that it can only be executed when the button is activated. You can also deactivate it when necessary.

Logs

This feature allows you to track executions and view the flow's execution history (if any). The information is divided into two tabs: Executions and Logs.

The information is organized by:

  • Status: represented by the signs executing, error or finished.

  • Date and time;

  • Execution ID;

  • End;

  • Duration;

  • Last module.

There are also "Successful" and "Failures" tabs to keep track of the respective successful and faulty executions of the flow, and by default the first tab shown is "All".

Logger

To view the executions of a flow:

  1. Choose one of the runs and click on it. The screen will display the Logger.

  2. You can view more details of the run you have chosen, and the data is separated into the following tabs: General, Components, Logs and Error (if any). You can check details such as Last component, Longest duration, Component with error (if any), etc. You can even click on a component and view it within the flow in the View in flow option.

  3. You can refresh, go back and expand the window using the respective icons.

How to Export a Log

To export a log, follow these steps:

  1. Access the “Executions” tab.

  2. Choose one of the executions and click on it. The Logger screen will be displayed.

  3. In the top-right corner, click the “Export Log” option.

  1. The log will be available in the “Exports” tab in a few moments.

  1. Click on the corresponding file, and the download will start automatically. The file will be saved as a CSV on your computer.

Exception Handlers

An Exception Handler is a set of Exception Rules with the same default action. EHs are applied to each module within a flow. You can apply multiple EH to the same module to cover different types of exceptions. In this menu, you can manage your Exception Handlers.

Context

Multicontext Flows allow you to use the same flow for several contexts. Each context has its own flow variable values and its own accounts. In this menu, you can add, edit or delete a context.

Settings

In this area you can make additional settings, such as editing and deleting connected accounts, creating, editing and deleting variables, modifying execution settings, creating alerts at different stages of a flow's execution and setting preferences.

When you click on the "Settings" button in the flow's Top Menu, the screen shows five tabs: Connected Accounts, Variables, Execution Settings, Alerts and Preferences.

Documentation

The "Documentation" section allows you to write details about each component of your flow, making it easier to document the entire integration process.

Flow

When you access the menu, in the Flow tab, note that each component will have the following fields:

  • URL: Enter a URL relating to the component.

  • Description: Describe the functionality of the component.

  • Example: Provide an example that illustrates how the component works.

Entering component information

To enter or edit component information, simply click on the pencil icon (edit) to fill in the fields.

To save your changes, simply click outside the editing area and the documentation will be automatically saved.

In addition, the go to (URL) and copy (Description) icons are also available to make it easier to access the added address and copy the previously entered description.

IAC

Also in "Documentation", on the "IAC" tab, you can export the flow or generate a sequence diagram:

Export IAC Flow

In the IAC tab you can export the flow in IAC format. To do this, simply click on "Export" and the file will be automatically downloaded.

Generate sequence diagram

Another possibility in the IAC tab is to generate the flow sequence diagram. To do this, simply click on the "Generate" button and you will be redirected to the diagram, where you can save it, rename it, etc.

Modules

In this menu, you have access to all the modules and can add them to the flow if you prefer. Just click and drag them into the flow.

Variables

Neste atalho, você será direcionado para a configuração de Variáveis, onde terá a opção de adicionar, editar ou remover variáveis conforme as necessidades do fluxo.

In this shortcut, you will be directed to the Variables configuration, where you will have the option to add, edit or remove variables according to the flow's needs.

Footer

At the bottom of this area, you have access to the following items:

  • View versions: Displays the most recent version of the flow. By clicking on the date/time, you will be redirected to the "Flow history" area, where you can view all changes by date/time, create new versions or restore previous versions.

  • Create version: Allows you to create a new version of the flow in order to publish it.

  • Back version: Returns the flow to the previous version.

  • Advance version: Advances the flow to the next version created (if any).

  • Auto align: Adjusts the entire flow, keeping it aligned in Flow Canva.

  • Zoom: Adjusts the flow to the desired zoom level on the canvas.
